Art for your Tiny Tots
Pre-K
Our beginning classes for ages 4-5 will focus on color differentiation, developing some fine motor skills through coloring, and fun group poster projects. You can expect a lot of game-play and beginner craft projects from this class as your children learn the ABC’s of art.
Grades K-2
This class targeted towards 6-8 year olds will teach kids the basics of drawing, color properties, and tackling more individualized art projects. Game-play will also involve teaching kids to work together in order to complete larger art projects.
Art for Budding Young Artists
Grades 2-4; Grades 5-8
Made for your elementary or middle school aged students who may be curious about the artistic world, these classes will help them explore their talents. The instructor will have students practice their technical skills by learning to draw people and everyday objects. Students will become more confident in their work as they learn to draw their favorite things.
Art for Intermediate Artists
Grades 2-4; Grades 5-8
This level is for students who are already somewhat confident around a pencil and paintbrush but want to further their skills. Students will learn some of the finer points of mixing color and will start to practice drawing simple scenes as opposed to just objects from life. In addition, they will learn about published artists and how to tell a story through their art.
Art for Advanced Students
Grades 2-4; Grades 5-8
Practice, practice, practice! This class is about building upon the students’ art skills. Students will continue practicing their technical drawing and painting ability while also starting to look at their artistic influences and find their personal style.
High School Art
Students who already know how to draw and paint will still have a lot to learn in this class. The instructor will introduce some basic perspective drawing and the basic principles of light and shadow. Designing a composition will be introduced along with introductory color theory. Students will continue to look at established professional artists and continue learning to draw influence from them. This class is excellent for students who are serious about perfecting their artistic skills.
